Learner Terms & Conditions
Rev and Go Automatic Driving School
These Terms & Conditions are designed to provide a clear, fair and professional agreement between Rev and Go Automatic Driving School and its pupils.
By booking and undertaking driving lessons with Rev and Go Automatic Driving School, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Driving Licence, Eyesight & Legal Requirements
All pupils must hold a current and valid UK provisional or full driving licence appropriate for the tuition being undertaken.
Pupils must meet the legal eyesight requirements for driving and must be able to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of 20 metres, using glasses or contact lenses where required.
It is the pupil's responsibility to inform the instructor of any medical condition, medication, driving restriction or change in circumstances that may affect their legal entitlement or ability to drive safely.
The instructor reserves the right to request a driving licence check where reasonably necessary.
2. Lesson Appointments
Every reasonable effort will be made to provide lessons at the agreed time and in the arranged tuition vehicle.
Occasionally, lessons may need to be postponed due to vehicle breakdown, instructor illness, severe weather, unsafe road conditions, emergencies or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where this happens, we will endeavour to rearrange the lesson as soon as reasonably practicable.
Rev and Go Automatic Driving School cannot accept responsibility for driving tests cancelled, postponed or changed by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
3. Payment
Payment must be received at least 48 hours before the lesson to secure your booking unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed.
Payment should be made by bank transfer. Lesson payments must not be allowed to fall into arrears.
We no longer accept payment by cheque.
Failure to make payment within the required time may result in the lesson being cancelled and the appointment being offered to another pupil.
4. Block Bookings
Block bookings of 5 or 10 hours are intended to be used within 5 or 10 weeks respectively, helping pupils maintain regular lessons and consistent progress.
Where lessons cannot be completed within this period because of pre-arranged holidays, instructor availability, illness or other reasonable circumstances, alternative arrangements may be agreed.
Regular attendance is strongly recommended to ensure that learning and progress are maintained.
5. Block Booking Refunds
If you decide to discontinue your driving lessons, you may request a refund of any eligible unused prepaid lesson balance.
Lessons already taken, missed without sufficient notice or cancelled within the chargeable cancellation period will not be included in any refundable balance.
Where a block booking was purchased at a discounted rate, lessons already taken may be recalculated at the standard lesson rate applicable at the time the block was purchased before the remaining refundable balance is calculated.
Refund requests should be made directly to Rev and Go Automatic Driving School.
Nothing within these Terms & Conditions is intended to affect your statutory consumer rights.
6. Lesson Consistency
Regular driving lessons are important for developing skills, retaining knowledge and making consistent progress.
Where a pupil takes a break of more than two weeks, we cannot guarantee that their previous regular lesson time will remain available.
Rev and Go Automatic Driving School operates a busy diary, and regular appointments can only be maintained where pupils attend lessons consistently.
7. Cancellations
A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required if you wish to cancel or rearrange a driving lesson.
Lessons cancelled or rearranged with less than 48 hours' notice will normally be charged at the full lesson rate, as the appointment has been reserved specifically for you and may be difficult to offer to another pupil at short notice.
Where exceptional circumstances arise, these may be considered at the instructor's discretion.
8. Late Arrival & No-Shows
Pupils are expected to be ready to begin their lesson at the agreed start time.
If you are late, the lesson will normally still finish at the originally agreed time because other pupils may have appointments immediately afterwards. The full lesson fee will remain payable.
If you are more than 15 minutes late and have not contacted your instructor, the lesson may be treated as a no-show and cancelled.
Failure to attend a booked lesson without providing notice will normally result in the lesson being charged at the full rate.
Repeated late arrivals, missed lessons or short-notice cancellations may result in the loss of your regular lesson slot.
9. Instructor Cancellations
Occasionally, your instructor may need to cancel or rearrange a lesson because of illness, vehicle problems, severe weather, emergencies or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Where possible, pupils will be given as much notice as reasonably practicable.
If Rev and Go Automatic Driving School cancels your lesson, you will not be charged for that lesson.
Any payment already made will be transferred to the rearranged lesson, credited towards a future lesson or otherwise dealt with as agreed.
10. Fines, Penalties & Driving Offences
Pupils will be under the supervision of their instructor while driving the tuition vehicle.
However, pupils remain responsible for complying with the law while driving.
Where a pupil commits an offence while driving and a fine, penalty or other legal consequence is legitimately attributable to that pupil, responsibility will remain with the pupil in accordance with applicable law.
11. Booking Your Practical Driving Test
We strongly recommend discussing potential test dates with your instructor before booking your practical driving test.
This allows your instructor to advise whether the proposed date is realistic and helps ensure that the tuition vehicle and instructor are available.
Booking a practical driving test does not automatically guarantee use of the Rev and Go Automatic Driving School vehicle.
12. Use of the School Vehicle for a Driving Test
Use of the tuition vehicle for a practical driving test must be agreed with your instructor in advance.
Rev and Go Automatic Driving School reserves the right to withhold the tuition vehicle from a driving test if, in the professional judgement of the instructor, the pupil has not reached a safe and suitable standard.
Factors may include the pupil's ability to drive safely and independently, recent lesson performance and whether the instructor reasonably considers the pupil ready to use the school vehicle for the test.
Any such decision will be based primarily on safety and driving ability.
13. Driving Test & Test-Day Fees
Test-day charges may include:
-
A lesson immediately before the practical test
-
Travel to the driving test centre
-
Use of the tuition vehicle during the test
-
Waiting time during the test
-
The return journey following the test
The applicable test-day fee will be confirmed with the pupil before the test.
The pupil is responsible for paying the official DVSA practical driving test fee when booking their test unless otherwise agreed.
If the DVSA cancels or postpones a practical test, Rev and Go Automatic Driving School cannot accept responsibility for the DVSA's decision.
Any tuition or instructor time already provided before notification of the cancellation may still be chargeable where appropriate.
14. Unsafe, Abusive or Unacceptable Behaviour
Rev and Go Automatic Driving School is committed to providing a safe, respectful and professional learning environment.
Pupils are expected to follow reasonable safety instructions given by their instructor.
A lesson may be stopped immediately if the instructor reasonably believes that a pupil's behaviour is dangerous, threatening, abusive, aggressive or places the pupil, instructor, vehicle or other road users at unnecessary risk.
Abusive or threatening behaviour towards the instructor will not be tolerated and may result in tuition being permanently discontinued.
15. Alcohol, Drugs & Medication
Pupils must not attend a driving lesson while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, or where their ability to drive safely is impaired.
Pupils are also responsible for checking whether prescription or over-the-counter medication may affect their ability to drive safely.
If the instructor reasonably believes that a pupil is unfit to drive safely, the lesson may be cancelled or terminated.
16. Right to Refuse or Discontinue Tuition
Rev and Go Automatic Driving School reserves the right to refuse or discontinue tuition where there are reasonable grounds to do so.
This may include persistent non-payment, repeated missed appointments, abusive or threatening behaviour, failure to follow reasonable safety instructions or conduct that places people or property at risk.
Where reasonably practicable, the pupil will be informed of the reason for tuition being discontinued.
Any legitimate outstanding lesson fees or charges will remain payable.
17. Vehicle Breakdown & Replacement Vehicles
Every reasonable effort is made to maintain the tuition vehicle to a high standard.
In the event of an unexpected breakdown, accident, mechanical problem or other situation that makes the vehicle unavailable, a lesson may need to be rearranged.
Where possible, an alternative suitable tuition vehicle may be provided. However, this cannot always be guaranteed.
Pupils will not be charged for lesson time that Rev and Go Automatic Driving School is unable to provide because of a vehicle breakdown.
18. Severe Weather & Unsafe Driving Conditions
Lessons may be cancelled or rearranged where weather or road conditions are considered unsafe.
This may include snow, ice, flooding, severe storms or other conditions that could create an unreasonable safety risk.
The instructor's decision will be based on safety and prevailing local conditions.
Where Rev and Go Automatic Driving School cancels a lesson for safety reasons, the pupil will not be charged for tuition that has not been provided.
19. Personal Information & Privacy
Rev and Go Automatic Driving School may collect and retain personal information reasonably required to provide driving tuition and manage bookings.
This may include your name, contact details, driving licence information, lesson records, payments and information relevant to your driving tuition.
Personal information will be handled responsibly and in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Personal information will not be sold to third parties.
Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with a legal obligation or where required by an appropriate authority.
20. Photographs, Test Passes & Social Media
Rev and Go Automatic Driving School may occasionally wish to take photographs following a successful driving test or for promotional purposes.
Photographs will only be used for promotional or social-media purposes with the pupil's permission.
You are under no obligation to agree to photographs being taken or published, and refusing permission will have no effect on the tuition you receive.
21. Complaints
We aim to provide professional, friendly and high-quality driving tuition.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service you receive, please raise the matter with your instructor as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to resolve it.
Complaints should clearly explain the issue and, where appropriate, the outcome you are seeking.
We will endeavour to consider and respond to complaints fairly and within a reasonable period.
22. Changes to Prices
Lesson prices may occasionally change due to increases in operating costs or other business considerations.
Where prices change, existing pupils will be given reasonable notice wherever practicable.
Any prepaid lessons already purchased will normally remain subject to the terms and price applicable when they were purchased, unless otherwise agreed.
23. Changes to These Terms & Conditions
Rev and Go Automatic Driving School may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices or legal requirements.
The latest version of the Terms & Conditions will be made available to pupils.
Any changes will not affect statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
24. Acceptance of Terms
By booking and undertaking driving lessons with Rev and Go Automatic Driving School, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read and understand these Terms & Conditions and agree to abide by them.
If there is anything within these Terms & Conditions that you do not understand, please ask for clarification before booking your lessons.
